I drove from Santilliana del Mar further into the Cantabrian mountains until I reached the Picos de Europa national park. The roads were very windy and steep. I took it very slowly. There was a trail of around 15 cars behind me, probably all shouting at me to hurry up . I won’t be pressured – safety first!
I arrived at this little mountain town called Potes where I parked for the night
I set out very early the next day to go to Fuente De and get on the first cable car up the biggest mountain

It took me above the clouds
I had read the night before that there are wild wolves in these mountains…
As I walked along, these wolf like shapes appeared in the distance

Oh not wolves…just cute mountain dogs guarding the sheep
After that inital fright of thinking I was going to be eaten alive by a pack of wolves I had a very peaceful hike, taking in all the epic views
