My journey to Ireland was a smooth one and I even caught a glimpse of dolphins from the ferry

I headed south from Dublin, towards Kerry
The two places I had marked as good spots to sleep for the night no longer allowed overnight parking so I ended up driving til late.. Lidl to the rescue

In the morning I explored the random town I’d found myself in the previous night. It was very lovely and even had a castle

That evening I arrived in Kenmare where I met my mum, dad, great uncle John and his carers Hannah and Richard. The hotel they were staying at allowed me to park and sleep out the back, and join the others for breakfast and dinner

We had a lovely week
We walked

We drank

It rained

The sun shone

We visited gardens

Explored castles and towns

Took a boat trip around Kenmare Bay

And went on a long scenic drive around the Beara peninsula in search of the house my great grandfather was born in. We didn’t find the house but it was nice to see the area
