Crossing the border and arriving in France

13.7.21

I was meant to be getting the 16.12 train, I arrived early and they put me on one at 14.16

The main two things I was worried about when crossing the border were

  • having the van searched and ending up with all my stuff all over the floor
  • having my van plants confiscated (as technically you shouldn’t take plants, dairy or meat across now we’re not members of the EU)

Luckily for me, neither of these things happened!

I had planned where I was going to go for my first night before I set off, and luckily I downloaded the map route on my phone as I couldn’t get any internet.

📍Tardinghen

This was a lovely farm which allowed people to stay in their vans overnight for €8. A lovely Dutch lady parked near me offered to do a mobile hotspot for me when I told her I couldn’t get on the internet. I did a bit of research…turns out I just needed to switch data roaming on.

I got my bike out and went exploring.

Went back to the van and slept soundly after a busy day!
