Tuscany

After leaving Florence I drove deep into the Tuscany countryside to a small farm

It is owned by Daniele and Alice who are very lovely. They welcome campers to stay for free, including use of hot showers and toilets. They even left a slice of homemade cake on my bonnet each morning.

I went on a long walk through forests, villages and vineyards

In return for all the free goodies I booked a meal in the guest house. Daniele bought out a selection of local wines to taste. Alice made a 3 course meal of brushetta, fresh ravioli, and tiramisu. It was all delicious and only €20 for everything.

Next stop Sienna

Distinguished by its medieval brick buildings

And ornate church

Then on to the natural thermal pools of Petriolo

The most relaxing place to spend a couple of days soaking in the hot water and showering under the waterfalls

I enjoyed slow drives off the main roads

Through the rolling hills

Sometimes catching the early morning mist

And stumbling across sweet little villages

Overall Tuscany was a delight!
